Collective bargaining agreements reached between SJMCA contractors and Local 322 contain unprecedented work reforms allowing you to save money and build better, safer projects.
Work rule changes include:
Overtime is time and a half. All overtime on jobs working six 10-hour days is done at time and a half.
Starting times are flexible. 7:00 a.m. job starts are available wherever job conditions require them.
Shift rate differentials. Second and third shift differentials are available to reduce the overall construction costs of a project.
Standardized holidays. Local 322 now has the same standardized holidays observed throughout the industry.
Welding certifications. Upon request, we can supply your projects with as many journeymen you need who are certified as qualified welders.
Safety certifications. Upon request, SJMCA contractors and Local 322 will supply journeymen with certified training in Hazwoper, Hazmat, Hazcom, Confined Space Entry and the basic OSHA 10-hour course. Over 1,000 certificates have been issued!
Certified safety training. SJMCA contractors and Local 322 have established ongoing certified training courses available to all journeymen. Journeymen who receive this training will be the first to be referred for employment when specific safety certifications are requested for a project.
Substance abuse testing. If a substance abuse testing program is mandated by the owner, SJMCA contractors and Local 322 have agreed to adhere to a project or plants policy for substance abuse.
Specialized training. Local 322 in conjunction with SJMCA contractors has regularly done specialized training tailored to the needs of the customer.
